Amazing facts in physics that will blow your mind

1. you are glowing. no, seriously, right now at this moment, you are emitting electromagnetic radiation. sure, it's a bit unnoticeable, but the photons that leave your body can in fact, escape the earth and go to other planets and even galaxies.
so, who knows, you might help some alien kid with no electricity see his way in the dark.

2. if you were to approach the sun, you wouldn't be killed by heat. oh no. you would be killed by gamma radiation. this is because the sun is so hot that it hardly emits any infrared radiation. the amount of infrared it emits is far smaller than the gamma. so before your body has time to heat up, the gamma has already fried it.

3. it takes several million years for photons generated in the core of the sun to get to the surface. this is because the sun is very very very dense.

4. lightning and the spark that spark plugs use to kick-start car engines and generator engines, are the same exact thing. size matters a lot, right?

5. the hydrogen atom is 99.99% empty. there's . . . practically nothing there. that's why it's so light. speaking of which, in jupiter, you can mine SOLID hydrogen. now, how cool is THAT?

6. it is impossible for humans to exceed a height of 8'9" . . .which is around 2.74 meters. this is because the human bones cannot support such a load. they are not strong enough. in fact, after 7'9" , the taller you become, the harder it is for you to walk. much less run.

7. the denser something is, the closer the speed of sound in it get's to the speed of light. this means that in super-dense objects, like . . . say . . . a neutron star, the speed of sound is very very very close to the speed of light. it can't get to it though. at that point, it just collapses into a black hole.

8. it is possible to fall and never hit the ground. in fact, the international space station is doing it right now. it's falling. always falling. but it can never hit the ground because it is
also moving sideways very fast. and from vector addition, the resultant is . . . it revolves around the earth. come to think of it, that's what the earth is also doing. we're falling into the sun.

9. bitumen is liquid. yeah. it looks like a solid, but it is actually liquid. it looks solid because it is very viscous. in fact, there in 1927, an experiment was started in which it was allowed to drip through a funnel into a beaker. however, since then, 85 years later, only nine drops have fell.

10. the faster you go, the slower time goes for you. Just like an extra boost. of course, at classical speed, the time difference is minuscule. but at speeds near that of light, the time difference is enormous. in fact, at light-speed, time . . . ceases . . to exist.

cheers!!!....
