JAMB To Hold 2017 Policy Meeting For Admission On 5th August

SHARE
The Joint Admission and Matriculation
Board (JAMB), alongside the federal
ministry of Education, and other
stakeholders in the education sector,
will convene a meeting to discuss the
modalities for this year’s admission,
any moment from next week.

According to source, the meeting
Will also have in attendance, Vice
Chancellors of the various state and
federal universities, rectors of
Monotecnics and polytechnics and
provost of the colleges of education.

We were also made to know that there are three (3) key things that are likely to be discussed in the meeting as listed below:

1. JAMB 2017 national cut off mark for
the different tertiary institutions

2. To decide on the admission
method to be adopted for the
2017/18 session

3. To allow varsities, especially the
state-owned ones and the federal
ones, kick off their admission
processes, as their is no much time
left.

However, the actual and official date
for this meeting is yet to be made
public right now.

Also, the venue for
this year’s meeting is NOT YET known.

The source has it that JAMB executive
body is currently deliberating on the
possibility of this meeting holding on
or before August 5th, 2017.

Jamb after the ongoing internal
deliberation, is expected to
communicate to the public as soon as
arrangement are finalised for this
meeting.

It will be recalled that last year, the
meeting was held in Kano.
Meanwhile, shortly after this
forthcoming meeting, JAMB is
expected to start forwarding the
names of those who chose the
various institutions, to the schools
where they had applied for.

This will
be done, considering the internal
admission requirement of each of the
institutions.

Also, JAMB will soon release the
official statistics of those that applied
for the various degree-awarding
programmes and their institutions of
choice.

Finally, I am advising all 2017
admission seekers to be very patient
and keep their ears on ground, as we
await further development as regards
this year’s admissions.
